Shift work, scheduled directly
ShiftSee is how small businesses schedule shift workers, fill shifts when someone bails, and build a trusted crew that keeps coming back. Workers pick up shifts, negotiate their rate, and build a reputation that follows them everywhere.
Built for restaurants, cafés, hotels, dance studios, catering, cleaning, events, trades — and 90+ more shift industries.
The problem
Someone calls out at 4pm on a Saturday. You start texting. You call in a favor. You pull a friend off their day off. Sometimes you give up and run the shift short, and your team — and your customers — feel it.
This isn't a hiring problem. You already know who's good. You've hired them before. You'd hire them again. What you're missing is a way to reach the right people at the right moment, fast, without begging.
Group chats with 14 people, most of whom don't check them, half of whom already picked up another shift.
The same reliable person gets called 30 weekends in a row until they burn out and quit.
A missing dishwasher on a Saturday night can cost more than a month of platform fees.
The solution
ShiftSee isn't a temp agency. It isn't an anonymous marketplace. It's the tool small businesses use to run their actual shift crew — the people they already trust — and reach them instantly when things change.
Build your weekly schedule with the shifters you already work with. Assign roles, set rates, publish. Everyone knows what they're doing on Tuesday.
When someone bails, send a Broadcast Shift to your whole connected crew in one tap. The first qualified shifter to claim it gets the shift. No begging, no group text.
Unlike every other platform, ShiftSee lets workers counter on time and rate. A shifter can say "I can do 1–8 for $30 instead of 12–8 for $25" and you decide. Everybody gets to a fair deal.
Why ShiftSee works
Most shift work isn't new work. It's the same work, done again. The same dishwasher on Saturday night. The same line cook for the brunch rush. The same housekeeper Monday mornings.
ShiftSee is built for that reality. Every connection you make gets stronger the more you use it. Every shifter's rating, reliability, and history follows them across every place they work. Every business builds a private, trusted crew that becomes harder and harder to lose.
This is the thing no scheduling app and no staffing marketplace gives you: a connected workforce that compounds.
If you work shifts
You work at more than one place. You want more hours some weeks, fewer others. You're good at what you do, and you want your reputation to reflect that. ShiftSee is how you do all of it.
See what's available, accept what fits, negotiate if it doesn't.
Stack shifts across restaurants, studios, events, whatever — all in one schedule.
See a shift for $20 but worth $26 to you? Counter. Back-and-forth until it works for both sides.
Your rating, your history, your reliability — all follows you. Not locked inside one employer.
Why we built this
I've run restaurants. My co-founder Pat has run kitchens. I've watched competitive dance studios — one of the most shift-broken industries nobody talks about — run on permanent WhatsApp scrambles to cover classes when instructors travel, get sick, or have auditions. My mother ran a school for 30 years and spent more time chasing substitute teachers than running the school.
Shift work is everywhere. Small businesses everywhere. And the software most of them use to coordinate it is still a group text.
ShiftSee is what happens when someone who's actually lived this problem spends every day rebuilding the tool from scratch. It's built on Vancouver Island, for small businesses first, and it's rolling out to the whole world one city at a time.

No subscription. No setup fees. You only pay when a shift happens. If ShiftSee saves you a single dishwasher on a Saturday night, it's already paid for itself several times over.
