Trust & safety
ShiftSee connects people with other people. We take that seriously. Here's how we protect everyone on the platform.
Identity verification
Before you can work a shift on ShiftSee, you complete identity verification. This confirms you are who you say you are, protects the businesses you work with, and makes the platform more trustworthy for everyone. We handle verification through industry-standard third-party providers.
Reputation systems
Every completed shift on ShiftSee includes a two-way review. Businesses rate shifters. Shifters rate businesses. Patterns emerge over time — and they're public (with privacy protections on individual identity).

Dispute resolution
Every shift has a "Report an issue" button before, during, and after. Issues include:
What happens when you report: a real human reviews every dispute. We typically respond within 24 hours. For safety issues, we respond within 2 hours during business hours.
We err on the side of protecting the more vulnerable party in any given dispute. In most cases this means the shifter, since the power imbalance tends to favor the business.
Serious violations result in platform removal. Harassment, dishonest no-shows, wage theft, safety violations — any of these get you removed, permanently.
Working conditions
ShiftSee connects businesses and workers. We're not the employer. But we set the rules for how our platform can be used, and we enforce them.
Violations of either side's agreement can result in suspension or removal.
