We built ShiftSee because we kept watching small restaurants, cafés, dance studios, and hotels try to make enterprise staffing tools work for them. They never do.

Pricing
Instawork's pricing is negotiated per business account, typically as a markup on the shifter's hourly rate. Workers on Instawork don't pay a platform fee.
ShiftSee charges a transparent 10% on both sides — business and shifter. Total take rate is 20%. We chose this model because the worker-side fee is what funds the negotiation feature. On every other platform, workers pay nothing but have zero leverage; on ShiftSee, you pay a fee and get the right to counter-offer on every shift.
Whether this is better for you depends on what you value. Many shifters tell us the ability to negotiate outweighs the 10% fee several times over.
Who to choose
If you operate a large enterprise with centralized staffing, operate primarily in dense urban US markets, and prioritize speed of fill over continuity of relationship — Instawork is probably the right answer for you. Their product is excellent at what it does.
